General Strategy: You are up against the Unholy Trinity of Advance Wars 2: the three Green Earth COs. And each of them is finely in-tune with their element; Eagle has his air units, Drake has his sea units, and Jess has her land units. What on earth are you going to do? Make liberal use of the silos available to you. Capture Jess’s HQ first. The funds provided to you as a result should be more than enough to overwhelm Drake. Finish Eagle off with your superior and more numerous air force. Kanbei cannot use this walkthrough thanks to his deployment costs.
Day 1:
– Build Infantry in both bases.
Day 2:
– Move both Infantry 2S and begin capturing neutral bases.
– Build Infantry in both bases.
Day 3:
– Finish capturing neutral bases.
– Move both Infantry 2N and begin capturing neutral bases.
– Build Infantry in both bases.
Day 4:
– Finish capturing neutral bases.
– Move southeastern Infantry 1S 1E and begin capturing neutral city.
– Move southwestern Infantry 1S 1W and begin capturing neutral city.
– Begin capturing neutral airports with remaining Infantry.
– Build Infantry in all bases.
Day 5:
– Finish capturing neutral cities and airports.
– Begin capturing all neutral cities with remaining Infantry.
– Build Artillery in the southwestern base.
– Build APC in the southeastern base.
Day 6:
– Finish capturing all neutral cities.
– Move northern Infantry 2N 1E and wait.
– Move southern airport Infantry 3N.
– Load APC with southeastern Infantry and Move APC 2W 1S.
– Move Artillery 2S 1E or 2S 3E, depending on where enemy Artillery has moved.
– Move remaining Infantry 1N 2W.
– Build Mech in northeastern base.
– Build Tank in southeastern base.
Day 7:
NOTE: At this point, I will only detail necessary movement.
– Begin capturing neutral city with westernmost Infantry.
– Attack central pipe seam with Artillery.
– Move Tank 2W 2S and attack central pipe seam with Tank.
– Move southwestern Infantry 3S if Artillery moved 2S 3E the previous day. Else, move Infantry as far south as possible.
– Troop movement is at your discretion. DO NOT LAUNCH ANY SILOS YET.
– Build Anti-Air in northeastern base.
– Build Tank in southeastern base.
– Build Mech in northwestern base.
Day 8:
– Finish capturing neutral city.
– Destroy central pipe seam with Artillery.
– Launch 3 silos at the greatest concentration of troops closest to Jess’ HQ.
– Move northern Tank 2W 4S and destroy enemy unit to the south.
– Move remaining Tank 2S and destroy enemy unit to the east.
– Move APC into a position where it can drop the Infantry without it being attacked and is still in range of the HQ.
– Move southernmost Infantry as far south as possible.
– Troop movement is at your discretion. DO NOT LAUNCH ANY MORE SILOS.
– Build B-copter in northern airport.
– Build Tank in northeastern base.
Day 9:
– Destroy enemy APC on Jess’ HQ with Tank if present. Else, destroy enemy unit to the east.
– Launch 2 silos at the greatest concentration of units closest to Jess’ HQ, if necessary.
– Move southern Tank 1S 1E and destroy enemy unit to the south.
– Begin capturing Jess’ HQ with Infantry.
– Block access to capturing Infantry with Artillery, APC, and remaining Infantry.
– Troop movement is at your discretion. DO NOT LAUNCH ANY MORE SILOS.
– Build B-copter at northern airport.
– Build Tank in northeastern base.
– Build Infantry in remaining eastern bases.
Day 10:
– Finish capturing Jess’ HQ.
– Build a T-copter in northern airport.
At this point, following the guidelines should help earning a 300-pt. S-rank.
Drake almost always builds a Cruiser on Day 10. Weaken it with silos and destroy it with a B-copter.
While it is not necessary to prevent Drake from using his COP or SCOP, it is easier and less annoying to do so. If anything, don’t let him use his powers after you have dropped your Infantry on or near his HQ.
Use your remaining silos on weakening Drake’s units near his HQ in order to let your B-copters block his bases and getting your T-copter in position.
Hold off destroying Eagle’s units until you are certain you can destroy 6 – 7 units in one day. Your plentiful funds should give you enough firepower.
On that note, avoid destroying his units on the bottom front so you can use them to help your power score.
Check the Intel screen to keep tabs on your technique score.
Routing Eagle is probably easier than capturing his HQ. It’s your choice.
